I used the neptune calibration fluid. My refractometer only shows from about 1.015 - 1.030 But I guess overtime it got out of whack. Probably from me tossing it around. I need to keep some of those packets around I guess.

My chaeto bucket!! Powered by a Maxi Jet 1200 with a valve and overflows back into the sump! Simple... I am waiting for the silicone to dry to seal in the small leak I had in the bulkhead. $40-$50 total and I already had most of it! I'm hoping this will be a good pod farm more than anything. My N and P are both untraceable by my test kits.

    - The bucket and bulkhead with silicone to keep it from leaking.

I'm having trouble with my bucket... Even with the silicone it's still leaking... I need to rethink my chaeto filter... I may have to find something that's square so the bulkhead won't leak... or maybe I just over tightened and ruined the o-ring... not sure.. I'll be messing with it more tonight.... I ordered my 40b and stand yesterday to set up the frag tank! I don't know what all I plan to do with that system yet besides plumbing it into the main tank, putting a remote DSB in it and a frag rack... I may put up a divider towards the middle and add a large carpet nem and move my pair of over aggressive maroon clowns that are in my unloved 30g to it.

Did you use a regular bulkhead on the bucket? If so, it will not seal. Try a Uniseal (sold at BRS among others). It seals much better on curved surfaces.

Does anyone put a CUC in there sump? Or is that just asking for my return/skimmer pumps to get plugged up?
