I have started buying the pieces for my lighting upgrade!!

I have settled on adding 2 VHO true actinics and 3 ATI Purple+ bulbs with LET reflectors and using Icecap 660 ballasts. I am going to mount the AIs *** to *** darn near touching each like this -----. Should be about the same length with 5 of them as the 60" T5/VHO bulbs!

    VHO Pure Actinic
    Ati purple +
    AI SOL Blues
    Ati Purple +
    VHO Pure Actinic
Ati Purple + (i may try a different bulb here. not sure yet)

Been super busy! Got the 40b Drilled, overflow installed, back and one side painted black and the tank is now in place with a 4.5" DSB 1 of my MP10w es on it and I'm going to let it cycle before I plumb it into the system. I took a piece of rock from my 30g and added it to help the cycle along. I don't plan on having much rock in the tank, very minimal.

I got this light from FaceofDeciet, it's an AI sol Blue, 3 420nm uv leds and 2 ATI purple plus 24" t5ho. I cleaned up the wiring last night and hope to mount it today/tomorrow.

He did a really good job coming up with this. I can't wait to see it on over the tank. The design is awesome. Very well put together. All I did was wrap the wiring in conduit and ziptie everyting together. It was all wired up and put together upon receipt.

The color of this and the lighting on my main tank should be very similar. The only real difference is I'm using VHO for the 420nm range on the main tank and this unit uses UV 420nm leds.

Cant wait to see the final fixtures!

Hey Grim, is it possible for you to post a gragh/chart of the pH off the Apex? I recently hooked up the pH probe after the calibration, I didnt know it fluctuated that much. Like this.

    Thanks in advance!

go to www.reeftronics.net and sign up for that free service. Very improved graphing

This is my last week.(I think it wasn't connected to the net when the line was flat, I have been messing with my network all week) Last night shot up more than normal due to me leaving my dosing pump for alk on all night to bring my alk up from 7 dkh to 8.3dkh.

Your fluctuation looks normal to me. It's very common for any reef tank. Mine still fluctuates that much despite the fact that my algae scrubber runs opposite my lights.

Got the frag rack done! Built it out of egg crate and zip ties! I saw someone do something similar on here a few months back. Should give me plenty of room! 5 levels including the sand bed.

Water cleared up in a hurry! I'm just waiting for a cycle now. I don't expect much of one. I may plumb it into my main tank this weekend.

    Looking good so far!

How is the flow from the MP10? I thought about getting one for my 30 breeder frag tank, but heard some people complain about the noise, and knocking them off of the tank. I've never had one, so I don't know first hand.
