As long as you take the time to align them properly I have never had noise problems from any of my Vortechs. In my relatively small living room I have 2 mp60s and 2 mp10s and I don't have any noise complaints.

The flow is AMAZING. I love my vortechs.

Thanks. That makes sense, if they're not aligned, they vibrate more.

What about the flow on the frag tank? How high and what mode works for you?

Not sure yet. I mounted that one and have it on 50% lagoon right now. But with nothing in there it's hard to tell. The flow looks like it's going to be great! Pushes everything towards the overflow and has enough undertow to keep the water circling. If I need it, I have another one I can use off my 30g to run antisync. That tank is destined to be a softy / seahorse tank and doesn't need much flow at all.

Lights on! I'll probably end up making a wood surround that hides the light and wiring. But it works for now!

Great coloration. A little blue for my taste I'll probably go with 2 Purple Plus. Right now it's actinic and purple plus. With the ai, the uv leds and the actinic, it's just too blue.

I had 2 purple plus bulbs in the fixture originally, and it was too pink to me. I added the twilight bulb to compensate for that. You could always lower the AI blues/royals to lower the blue look.

    Thanks guys. I appreciate it!

I'm loving the look of the Purple plus on the 40b. I can't wait to see my new lighting after I add the vho's and the purple plus on my main tank this weekend.
