With this I can have 30 gallons of fresh RO/DI available and 30 Gallons of saltwater made up and ready to go. But they aren't both going to fit... So I'm kind of stuck with an extra. I'll just use one for saltwater container. I really don't need 30 gallons or RO/DI on hand anyhow. The odd dimensions would make for a great seahorse tank though... hehehe

The way I have been using it is a brute can filled with fresh saltwater and I have 2 BRS 50ml pumps. One pumps water out of the skimmer compartment of my sump and then outside to a drain. The other pumps fresh salt water into the return compartment at the same time. This happens every hour just before my Calcium doses. It comes out to roughly 2 gallons a day. But it hasn't been reliable, the two pumps aren't in perfect time with each other so I have had to make constant adjustments and I never run it when I'm out of town.

To fix the issue I'm having with my BRS 50ml pumps... I'm going to do the http://www.3reef.com/forums/i-made/my-tunze-osmaolator-automated-water-change-89115.html that Powerman showed me. I already have the Osmolator! And it will auto change 2 gallons all at once every night.

Thats awesome! Having a basially constant water change is probably the most natural thing you could do for your tank.

Keeps it constant!! And it makes doing water changes super easy! I use a scale to weigh the salt, drop it in, let it mix for 2 days then turn the system back on and it does the rest. 2 weeks later, do it again!

That would be a sweet SH tank. with all that vertical room they would definitely start their mating dance. then you know what that means. you get to have a seahorse ranch haha

Skimmer, frags and led stars all got here today!! It was like Christmas! Just waiting on Rapid LED to get me the rest of the parts and I'm on to the diy fun!

Skimmer is now assembled and about to get a nice long vinegar bath!!

Just curious, is that a new skimmer? If so why a vinegar bath? I am under the impression as well that vinegar isn't good for the rubber seals and such as well.

I have always read that you should rinse off the oils and stuff from production to lessen the breakin time. I don't want to be completely with out production on my fully stocked tank while it breaks in. (I'm not positive this is true, but it made sense so I went ahead with it)

Ok, I know that when I got my CPR BakPak that it just said to rinse it with hot water. I guess every manufacture probably has different ways to break in their equipment.
