You're killing me here grim. Man you are doing something right, coral whisperer.

The last 2 images, do you know the name of that coral? I think I do but want to see what you say. If I am right it's a harder one to keep.

Thanks for the update, now I will go look at my boring tank. LOLOLOL. :)

Thanks for the input. +1 for a DSLR (especially a Nikon)!

I'm not sure of the name or exact type it is. I bought it at my LFS as an "australian tabler" What is your guess? I have always wondered.

Your tank is FAR from boring. It's absolutely beautiful.

Want to know something that will really kill you?? I realized this as I looked at my pictures... AI Sol Blue was on back order last summer... Here is a picture of the day I finally got my AIs and the first time there was ever light over this tank... It's a full 2 months after that 1 year mark I posted a couple weeks ago, lol!

I appreciate, I'm still loving that light I got from you over my 40b! Getting great results from it as well.

Thank you very much!! And, I know the feeling!! But this hobby gets priority for me. Luckily, I am running lower on ways to go over the top with this build.

Not only a beautiful tank, but now I camera I would kill for?? Well, not actually but you get the idea. Looking great, can't wait to add some supplement to my light, once the company gets back to me that is..

I believe it's a Acropora Hycainthus, a beautiful high level light tabling coral. It comes in reds, greens and some blues hues. Probably in the top the on my list of favorite corals.

    Excellent comparison image BTW.

Thank you, the corallite structure looks a lot like that. I have noticed that this coral can eat a LOT of light, look at the edge that's more inside the tank, it's getting the best coloration and growth by a fair margin. I have considered getting a couple par 30/38 type bulbs and pointing one right at this coral and one at another acro that isn't getting enough light due to my support braces.

The Ecoxotic par38 has 40 degree lenses and only $119 each. I have an eb4 up in my canopy that could control the on/off easily. I may add 2 of these, one to spotlight that tabler and another to that acro that's shaded by the support brace. I bet I can get the light blue color rather than the deep purple I have now out of this, especially if it IS a Hycainthus. That's the best ID I have heard yet.
