BB looks too weird and unnatural for me, maybe a super shallow sandbed (<.25 of an inch) and some fish/corals/inverts prefer/have to have sand.
Sounds like a BA build anyways ;D

Think I could strap your 210 gallon to the top of my Caddy and bring it home with me? ;)

Congrats on the big build. Think and plan it out thoroughly! My "dream" build is planned out to the last drop of dosed saltwater...just need to stop spending money on other stuff!

Grim.. On one hand I'm so sad to see your tank coming down... On the other very excited to see the results of the new setup, can't wait to see what results you get from the t5's. What kinda bulbs you thinking about going with? Also, a Monti covered bottom would be SOO BA, I've always wondered if it were possible to do a zoa field bottom :D. Would be easier to go from BB to shallow sand bed though.

NVM on bulbs just seen you already had it up. I bet that will look amazing!

Working that out now! I am going to set it up where I can walk all the way around it and give myself plenty of storage room and filtration room so nothing is laying around the main viewing area of the tank. I have my dream setup pretty well planned out, but it's not going to happen till I build my house.

I hate breaking down my current setup!!! But at least it is giving me an excuse to upgrade. I think a monti/polyp covered bottom is the number one thing that makes me want to go BB... That really would be pretty damn cool...

On the t5s, I am looking forward to seeing what type of results I get. I'm most curious to see how my growth patterns change. I expect some pretty drastic changes because the nature of light distribution from T5 is so different from LED.

    +1 for bare bottom.
If your focus is an SPS Kingdom, sand may simply get in the way down the road...

Lucky you on your dream build.

I'm doing BB on my big tank that I'm getting together now that my 46 is complete (at least it'll be BB till I buy a house) the 46 is currently BB but will add it's shallow sandbed back in once i've finished rinsing it.

Ever since the encrusting monti idea I have been getting excited about it! I have a bunch of encrusters laying around, this could be very cool.
