I can't wait to go out there myself. It'll be something to see with all the growth going on. Where I work on the rigs there is no tropical fish swimming around the legs. lol

Temperature Control: I will start with fans on the sump, then add them to display if not enough.. If I still need more then I'll look into chillers. (75 degree Fahrenheit is my goal temp)

Feeding: I'm going to mod a dorm style fridge to hold peristalic dosers / food and plumb my return through it and introduce the food through a venturi. I will dose at a near continuous basis during my viewing times - rotifeast, shellfish diet 1800, oyster feast and I'll rotate these in the last (arcti-pods, FM products, WM Amino Acids) (still researching this)

I'm modeling my feeding fridge off these designs.

You won't see anything unless you dive. I have actually never dived on a rig, but my older brother says it's incredible and the amount of fish is more than on any reef he has been to which is quite a few. Get good flippers I recommend Scuba Pro

It a different collection of fish than you would find on a reef say in the caribbean/hawaii/red sea. But an amazing number of fish and interesting species non-the-less.

They have angelfish and some other Caribbean reef species though. How deep are the rigs you dived on? I know we dived on one near the lump.

You plauge another reefer with your rampant acro breakouts? Kind of a low blow Scott. Also, lets go diving on an Oil Rig!!!!! I dove pretty much everything else you can.
Im pumped to see you start!

I plagued a BUNCH!! I sold a few grand in frags over the last month too.

I'm as excited about this build as I have ever been about any project in this hobby. Should test my skills pretty hard.

The only problem with Oil Rigs is they can be dangerous. I know of quite a few very very experienced divers die on them. Last summer a guy who was considered one of the most experienced rig diving spear fishermen died with my Mom's best friend's son. They have no clue what happened to him. Most people who do it are thrill seekers and they go over 300ft down to spear and they try to bring up over 300lb warsaw groupers.
