    i have disgusting black algea growing in my tank is it because there is sunlight constantly hitting it while the t5 is on ?:confused:

    Sunlight can be a cause of algae. Try to post a picture so we can see what it is. Also post your water parameters and feeding schedule. It might by cynobacteria.

    Black algae is usually turf algae, same stuff one can find in turf scrubber filters.

    The darker the algae, the higher the nutrients are in the water.
