I have bought a grounding probe for my tank.....but when I got it, the directions told me to not put the suction cup or the top of the probe in the water......Now I don't know how set it up to help de-shock the tank? If I put it in my overflow will the constant water movement conected to the tank be enough to ground the tank. As you can see I have no idea or clue when it comes to electricity and it's principles. If anyone has any ideas that would help please share, I want to protect my friends, but am not sure how to do so....

I just stuck mine a few inches below the water line at the top and plugged it into an powerstrip- no problems!
