grounding probe

    I have one of these in my tank...everyone should. Now mine is covered in coraline. Will it still work, should I remove the coraline and what's the best way.

    The coralline will not impeded its efficiency providing a solid path to ground its fine like that. Wow I talked good with big boy words LOL It's fine Nemo

    Hey Nemo, what was happening in your tank that you needed a ground probe? I was told to get one too but Im not sure if thats what I need.

    Nothing happened, I just wanted to be cautious. It's recommended to place one in a tank, especially with all the equipment in the tank. If there is voltage the ground probe will save you and the livestock. I can't use a gfci as I am in an apartment and can't change the socket. For $30 the ground probe is an investment. Most reefers have one.
