it will with time, coralline seems to like plastic for some reason.

you could probably make it look better by glueing rock and sand to it.

do you have anything with coraline on in your tank so far BoBo?

if so, one good method is to remove a small piece of rock with coraline on
and scrape it over your tank water with a screwdriver or something similar
the flakes of coraline will then be distributed around your tank and help other areas such as the bare PVC become colonised with it

For me at least the coralline seems to grow faster on the pvc than anything else.

My opinion on coralline algae growing quicker on pvc than glass is the fact that pvc has a porous/pitted surface and glass is smooth. Better grip for the algae to take hold...

Ah, yes.. Coraline will grown on anything including shells on live snails. You can cheat.. ;D Get purple PVC primer & coat the PVC pieces that you need. (My idea, ;)) This will do two things, one color the white PVC coraline purple & two remove the imprinted labels on the PVC.. I have some pieces that I did, I'll post them.

Also, you can make it as light in color as you want, by just wiping it down before it dries or making it darker add another coat & letting it dry between coats.

I do have a rock and some snails covered in it... I think I need to do the screwdriver method because its only encrusting the rock its on K+ for the advice

    Thats def interesting :p
Thanks for moving it I wasn't sure if that's where it belonged or not :).... makes me think I should have sanded the pvc given it an even more porous surface great input

HAHAHA thats a great idea i would def love to see your pics of that oh and yeah when I got some snails they were covered in the stuff K+ for the primered pics ;D

If you do this you would wanna turn off all pumps, wavemakers, filters, etc etc, basically anything that moves water
