Get rid of it. Imguessing you will see more. They can infest a tank and multiply like crazy. I stick a syringe near them and pump them full of hot boiled water and then suck them up into the syringe.

+1 aptasia - an unfriendly. I like the boiling water injection as morninwood suggested - that or glue over the hole. I have glued plugs over then before - never to be seen again. There are products too, but I prefer to do battle the old fashion way :)

I just found some in my tank today, I had seen 1 when I first got it but not they are multiplying quite quickly.

Don't peppermint shrimp go to town on these?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Peppermint shrimp sometimes come with their own issues. Sometimes they will not eat larger aiptasia, you may have to not feed the tank to encourage them to look for other foods. Peppermint shrimp can become aggressive with LPS, stealing food and also eating LPS. My peppermint shrimp ate all my maxi-mini anemones in about 48 hours right out of the blue. I will say this though I had no aiptasia for along time.

+1 aptasia, I like the syringe idea but I use vinegar instead. Shoot it right into the hole.

    Thanks for the info.

I plan on going on vacation in a week, and have family looking at the tank you think I should put together a CUC?

They will be able to monitor the tank and do a feeding if need be but they will not be able to test. I will be gone for a week so I would prefer to not have an infestation to deal with when I come back.

    Looking to do the following:

    Emerald Crabs
    Peppermint Shrimp
    Cerith Snails
    Nassarius snails
    Fighting Conchs
    Mexican turbo snails
    Various Hermit crabs

    Thoughts?

Yes it can be. It has a powerful sting that can take out fish and corals.
