I decided to check out my frogspawn this morning before it opened up fully to see if I have any growth yet. And then i notiched this poking out of the side of it. It looks like its made of calcium based off its color, and has what appears to be some sort of feather duster looking thing coming out of it. Let me know what you think. Its the growth right between the two stalks, at the top. Last pic seems to show it best.

I can't really see what it is in the pic but if Phoenix is right then I would leave it, they are harmless calcareous sponges, if anything they will help filter the water of phytoplankton.

Can't tell by the pic either. New heads are going to look like miniature versions of the bigger ones when they pop in. It's an easy identification.
