Heres what I did when i wanted to connect 2 sumps. I drilled Sump (A) so that there was a 1 1/2 inch hole about 2in form the top of the side panel, put a bulkhead through, made a mini stand for sump (A) to sit on so that the bulkhead could be positioned just above the hight of sump (B). In-take water now enters into sump (A), flows through bulkhead and down into sump (B) and returns to DT. In the first pic we are just looking at the bottom pvc with bulkhead. second pic is of the sump (A) sitting on a stand so its elevated above sump (B).
Here are some pics (best I could do).

Yeah, getting good acrylic is not cheap at all. Makes me wish I still worked at the sign shop I worked at years ago. I could easily get enough 1/2" thick clear acrylic (the good stuff too!) for free! I also had control of the CNC router as well. If only I knew now what I knew then right? In all honesty though, many people make great sumps using AGA's. Its not hard, just takes some time and patience, and a glass shop that knows how to measure properly. I've already been to three different glass shops in my area, none of them could cut a decent square (I'm talking within an 1/8" here, nothing crazy)
