Well I have a colony of GSP that I need to prune up on a base rock. I was thinking a wire brush and just siphoning out the debris it makes in the water? Any ideas would be awesome, this colony is starting to get close to some nice zoas :-/

Get a scalpel or sharp knife and trim an edge the way you like or need. The wire brush might do a lot of damage to the colony. Treat with an iodine dip after the surgery.

+1 to the iodine dip. Just get the right iodine to water ratio.

The wire brush will most likely just spread GSP to every nook and cranny of your tank.

So when cutting it, I just need to work the scalpel under the mat and just work it off the rock?

Just try to do that, if you can take the rock out, it will be a lot easier.
