Gsp

Got a mat of GSP from a friend. It was open until her Coral Beauty picked at it and then it closed up for 5 days and would not open. We moved to my tank and it is on day 3. Still not open. Any ideas to entice it open? Light? Water flow etc? Thanks

 

The CB and Flame Angel and 50 50 when coming into being reef safe. It may be picking on it more than you think. Try different positions in the tank and re-check your water parameters, (specifically temp and salt content from my experineces)

 

My temp is right about 80 and my parameters are all good. Salinity 1.025

Soungs like the coral will not make it if it does not open in a few days or the CB is the culprit.
All I konw to do is try different locations in your tank. I have gotten them to grow in cheap refular lighting in my fuge though so I doubt that is it. GL to you

 

You don't mention what kind of lights you have. Also, I'm assuming that it was your friend that gave you the coral that had the angel that was picking on the polyps and that you do not also have an angel fish that is maybe picking at them?

 

I have sufficient lighting (VHO) and my friend had the beauty not me. The GSP is in my safe fishy tank now. Thanks

Give it few days and it will hopefully come back ok.
A few days to even a week with them not opening still does not mean the colony is not done for.
