Seano Hermano is selling a Boost led par 30 bulb for $40. Might want to look at his thread.

    That's where I saw it lol :p

I decided that I'm just going to keep it a simple freshwater tank. My dad said that he would rather have that in his office. He likes the idea of the Cherry Shrimp. He said he wants something calming, but easy to take care of. Thanks, though :) That's still a very good deal.

Yep. I just found a guy that'll sell me 10 shrimp and throw in some Red Ramshorn Snails for $12. Do you think a couple GU10's would be enough for some plants?

For a planted tank that would be plenty of light. If it were saltwater I would not use anything less than a par30 lamp.

I love cherry shrimp for planted tanks...never had them myself, but hope to set up a FW planted for my dorm. I think you're getting a good deal.

Should 2 or 3 lights be okay? I have always loved Cherry Shrimp and I think that a tank with them would look nice for a dorm tank as well. My LFS only rarely gets them in, and they always charge around $15-20 each. I hear that Red Ramshorn Snails spread like wildfire. Should I still get them? Also, would Neon Tetras bother the Shrimp?

    TIA
