so ive only had my chromis for 3 days now, i started off with 5, on the second day i lost two one to my bubble and the other mysteriously disappeared, and now i have one that is hiding in the rocks and is constantly getting picked at, and i think that one will die too, although it did come out for feedings . So now i only have two left

    is this a normal occurrence?

it just really sucks, i feel so bad for the gusy, especially since i dont know the COD of one, i was hoping for a decent school of chromis, as i actually thought they were kind of cute, so i really dont know if these last ones are going to die as well

Its ok, I have trouble keeping chromis also. They never schooled like I wanted them too and they always fought. I started with five also. I read somewhere that they need to be fed constantly.

In my experience, if they make it past the first week or two, they are pretty hardy. I think it depends on how they were collected. If they were brought to the surface to fast then they get the bends and are short lived. The first batch I got, 1 out of five survived. now I bought 6 more about 2 weeks ago and still have all 6 plus the old one. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they all make it.

Yep. I've heard they can be really hard to keep alive. Sorry about the troubles! Thankfully they were cheap!

I had pretty good success with them until my tank semi crashed. They have very high metabolisms and should be fed small meals 3x a day. Many people don't realize that. They can be hardy, but should be kept in odd numbers. Hopefully the last one makes it. Good luck with him.
