I know they say they are really easy, but if it makes ya feel any better I have had trouble as well. I started with 6. Within a week, I had 1. That single one has been alive and kicking for a while, and I am thinking of trying the school again. But yes, I have had trouble with chromis.

its such a shame on how they cant stay a live you would think that with them being in the damsel family they would be just as hardy as the others, even if they werent collected exactly right

Just suggestion. If you cant get to regular feeding. (Its hard when you have a full time job :p). Try Nori on a clip. I'm not 100% sure if it'll work but it provides the option to graze at least...

    Anywho... just m2c

You remember that we spoke about this? This is why I only and still have one Chromies in my tank. I dont want to waste my money on others only to die in a matter of days. Sorry for the loss and trouble.

Good luck with them... I once had 5 and 2 of them died within the first week. The others were very hardy and stayed alive for a long time... until I had to relocate to Spain and sold them...

This is why chromis need to be kept in large schools. They will develop a pecking order and kill each other off until only the most dominant fish is left. Naturally, you can't keep a lot of these fish unless you have a large tank so although many of us would like to keep large schools of them, we don't have the necessary space to do so.
