So I decided to take a nap and when I woke up my 1,200 GPH power head decided to fall off of its mount and blow all the sand out of one side of my established aquarium ALL OVER THE PLACE. Normal people would freak out but I figure can't be any worse than a hurricane and now the sand has been cleaned as well. I then looked at my cardinals to find out that they have yet again spawned so now I have more cardinal babies then I know what to do with. I have juvenile ones from the last batch.

P.S. I received a fist sized blue devils hand leather finger coral. It is doing great, it is of course deciding to shed a layer of waxy mucus today (not surprising) Was wondering if anyone has had any luck with this type of coral.

Congrats with the cardinals, way to see the silver lining with the pump fall.

The leather should be in moderate to high lighting and strong flow.

By most statistical measures, it's about 75% of people you've ever met.

you guys are to funny! I do rear the fry but I don't sell them I like them to much maybe I will once the tank becomes over populated. I have had a 90% success rate with the fry the key is to not steal them from the males mouth and wait for him to spit them out. The other key is to not move them to a separate tank but rather put them in the main tank in a Tupperware container with holes. The next thing is to not feed them. The will feed themselves, by that I mean cope-pods and rotifers manage to enter the holes drilled into the Tupperware container and they can not get out so they are doomed.

Thanks for the info on the leather. I have put it half way up and directly in front of a power-head which it seems to like. Hopefully it will finish shedding here soon.

Normal people HA! who are they and where do they live??? :)

Man I would have gone NUTS, I'm a sucker for tidyness and things being in there place.

Must be cool watching the little fry grow up. ;D I used to have cockatiels. My female laid 3 eggs with her mate. Two hatched and it was just a life experience watching them grow up. I know its not the same as fish but I just love watching nature do its thing. :)

I used to be like that 8 years ago when I started this hobby; however, you would be surprised how forgiving things from the ocean are and how we'll they take care of themselves without our help. My motto is put it in the tank and leave it, as long as you keep it's artificial habitat clean they will do the rest.

89.7 % of statitics are just figures plucked out at random

magnet mounts are the way to go with power heads
sand storms are not the end of the world on newer set ups
but could be a pain in a system that was a few years old

The Korali is on a magnet mount. They come with one; however, my huge snail decided to wedge it out (Mexican Turbo Snail). I find him to be a nuisance especially when he "bull dozes" my coral.
