I am going away on vacation soon and I am writing a guide for the house sitter for my new SW tank. What do you guys think?
There is a picture inculded for each fish and coral as well but they aren't here. PS I am not done yet and my mom has yet to edit it.

    Saltwater Aquarium Instructions
    Inventory of Fish and Corals
Check every day to make sure they are all there. It is best to count them during feeding time
    1 Clownfish
Swims all around the tank during the day. If you don’t see him there could be a problem. Also the only fish that does not go into a cave during the night. There also might be a problem if he does not shoot right up to the surface when you are feeding he is usually right at the surface.

    1 Filamented Flasher Wrasse
Goes into a cave somewhere during the night. Spends most of the day swimming around but is not always seen but is usually pretty easy to find when there is food in the tank.

1 Solar Wrasse Same stuff as the other wrasse.

2 Chalk Bass Newest fish and have not yet found a place in the aquarium hierarchy but expect to see them more and more as they come out of their caves more often. They do come right out during feeding. If you look under the rock at eye level you can see most of the caves. Please note that one is much smaller than the other by about ¾’’ of an inch so you can tell them apart this way.

1 Diamond Watchman Goby Another new fish that is usually at the bottom. It is sometimes hard to find because it is white but if you watch long enough it will usually make its rounds. If there appears to be sand swirling around the tank then you know it is burrowing.

    1 Ricordea(Coral)
Main thing to watch out for is that it does not get covered with sand

    A ton of Astrea Snails
Look for any of these guys on their back on the bottom of the tank they should have their foot in the air or have their disc covering the opening. If they fall on their backs they can’t rollover and they will die hence why there are so many of their shells around the tank. If you see any that have fallen put them right side up on a rock and they will be fine.

    Feeding
I will place proportioned amounts of food in Ziploc bags with the date on them in the freezer. Just pour it in and watch to make sure you see all the fish.
    Putting hand in the tank
For some reason most likely because a snail has fallen on its back you may have to stick your hand in the tank. Remember to remove all jewelry and wash your hands and arms thoroughly with soap and water. Then stick your hand in the tank and do what needs to be done. When you pull your hand out of the tank wash it again.
    General Maintenance
The lights in the tank come on everyday in the late morning and turn off around 10 o’clock. The light in the fuge which is behind the tank come on at 9am and stays on till about 10:15. Make sure that all the lights turn on everyday and turn off.
The Protein Skimmer is one of the most important filtration units in the tank. Check it every day to make sure it is producing bubbles. Every couple of days you will have to empty the skimmer cup this is the most disgusting jobs there is. Take the cup out and dump the contents down the sink also wipe of the cup with a paper towel then replace the cup.

I dont see anything about top off or temp check. Also you should make sure anything that needs to be reset in the event of power failure is fully explained. If you have a HOB overflow some explanation of that should also be done.

I thought your not supposed to wash your hands with soap before putting them into the tank, just rinse with water is what I heard.

You may also want to write a small description of each fish (ie The orange one with white stripes) so they know which one is which, or copy and paste a general pic of each fish

I would add in what procedures are to be taken if the RIC gets covered with sand. also, make note that the lights are on timers so the sitter does not manually try and turn them on and off. I would go over skimmer maintenance in person, it will make it much less confusing.

The sitter came over and I briefed her on everything the guide is more of a reminder I covered auto top off and it will have plenty of water at least a 3 weeks supply. I didn't know that about washing hands perhaps I should learn proper procedure. The sitter has my cellphone number and has watched my freshwater tank for 2 years. We also have a generator and I have practiced power failure drills and nothing overflows and everything turns back on plus my tank is RR.
