gurgle from marineland 45 cube

the way that the tank is set up, the bulkhead goes through into tank, then a 90 bend goes DOWN into water. Yours comes up from the bottom. Not to mention there is literally no room to get your hand in the overflow to move or remove or add anything!

There is a hole with a piece of ridged airline, any thing i can do with this piece to quiet everything? make it bigger for more air?

I understand how the 45g overflow works. It is one of the reasons why I got a 93g cube instead of a 45g years ago. Still does not make it engineered better. Have your friend look up herbie overflow. Essentially its an air to water ratio that is variable and based off of a change in pressure. Reading through the other thread the air:water is explained... same exact concept no matter where the overflow is located
