I'm so excited. I'm trying to get a picture. I'm sitting on my porch/deck in my backyard, using my laptop. I've waited since last year, keep putting fresh nectar in my feeder, etc. I've seen them camping, at other friends houses near me etc., not until today at my home!!

the ones we had in TX made a hum, this one seems/sounds silent.

I love hummingbirds! the season is ending up here (Virginia) and they're starting to fly down south back to Mexico. We still get different ones every 30 minutes or so. During June and July we get 2 or 3 at the same time. How do you deal with bees/wasps/ants?

The best I could do with my Iphone4 on full zoom, sitting about 10 ft away.

Awesome! Here in Georgia, my neighbor is part of the state dnr program of volunteers that, trap, tag, and release hummingbirds. They actually track them for years. It is really cool. The weekend they do it, they invite th neighborhood kids over to help/observe up close. It's amazing!

We have one that rules our feeder. Occasionally we see others. Its fun to watch him feed. The buzz up to a tree branch and sit for a bit.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Congrats Todd.

Arizona seems like a strange place for humming birds but we have tons of them. I love their tiny nest and itty bitty eggs.
