    Hey guys,

I got a little update for you on how my tank overhaul is coming. I was throwing ideas around in my last thread “what’s the first step in recovery.” I’ll give you a brief description of what is wrong, manly turf algae GHA and being overstocked. There are only 3 fish, but their 2 damsel and a porcupine puffer (good read my last thread on why he is in there). The porcupine is not going into the 90 my parents are setting up, he’s going to my lfs because it’s going to be over a year till the 90 comes.
So now on to what I’ve done to fix algae, I have change 75% of the water in the tank over the last 5 days, I have blacked out for 3 days, replaced 2 year old t-5 lamps, and fixed my rodi so I can stop topping off with tap. I have also added a koralia 1050 to beef up my flow. I think I’m going to let the tank settle for a day or two then change the finally 25% of the water. Oh ya one more thing I did was soak all my pumps/simmers/PH’s in vinegar for 2 days.
I’ll try and post some pics tonight, but I have to figure out how first. But now I have a few questions. I want to dip some of my more problematic rocks in H2O2. Do I latterly fill a bucket with it and soak the rock for a few mins? And then even when I dip the rock I’m going to try dosing H2O2, Is the correct dosage for 3% 1 ml for 10 gallons?

    Thanks for reading.

    dose

Its better not to dip the whole rock if you can avoid it

Just apply straight 3% right to target
    Let sit 4 mins
    Rinse reinstall
