Clown fish made it, it is swimming like a champ down in my fuge, has good food sources, no bullying. He was floating at the top when I brought it home. So happy!! Its funny people at work are like, its just a fish...im like yea mb to you but us reefers are different.

Thats awesome you helped out. I think any one of us would have done the same.

Whats the long term plan for the livestock? Is the owner asking for it back at some point, or are they just freebees that he'll write off in damages?

Not really sure. I gave him pics and a documented list of the species and sizes for insurance purposes. They are going to rebuild but it is going to take some time. He simply said "save what you can". Ill figure it out down the road. If everything stays healthy I can give it back no problem. I have a 16in by 16in monti cap, it takes up the whole right side of my tank, so i need to find a more permanent solution as well. I was able to do a walk through of the store today and it was just a mess, felt so bad.

My wife thinks they look nice, but just doesn't understand the passion.

It's much more than just a fish to us. Kinda weird to think others don't think of it that way. lol.

As others stated I would help out my local LFS if he needed it or any other fellow reefer. Karma headed your way. Do they know what caused the fire?

I'm glad you were there to help!!! Your LFS owner sounds like someone I would love to meet one day. Money is one thing, but these animals NEED our intervention daily to survive and thrive. Sometimes, they need extraordinary efforts and you and the LFS owner came through!!!!

LFS owners aren't all these evil people as they are spoken of online. 3 or 4 years ago in the middle of the dog-days of August, SW Air Freight lost our shipment. That evening, I was informed that the plane had to land for repairs in Arizona. They moved all of the people over, but they left my coral shipment sitting in the plane. It arrived after midnight and I was picking it up right before 1 am (which is when the freight dept closes). One of my competitors had 15 boxes sitting there and their warehouse didn't have A/C (and it was still 90 degrees even that late). I acclimated 35 boxes that night instead of my own 20 and then paid my staff to help them re-bag them the next morning. You just gotta do what's right sometimes. (That doesn't mean that later that day I didn't fully intend to outsell my competitor....that's just business. You still have to do what's right though).
