So my GF goes to the store to by some coffee this morning at good old dunkin donuts. Well she calls me and says her card gets declined (yesterday was pay day) She calls TD bank and they say the account is closed. So I go on my account, 3 150 dollar purchases at Marshals in Las Vegas, $150 at McDonalds, really, what they he// did they eat? I LIVE IN PHILLY! Long story short they got my account and my SF, charges were in Vegas and CA. They noticed that we took money out 3 minutes apart across the country and closed the account. GET A JOB SCUM BAGS, EARN YOUR OWN MONEY!

I hear you. Same thing happened to me. My bank was very swift at making the call and 2 days later I had a replacement card and an untouched credit/purchase transaction history.

It is very frustrating and angering, but there's always a chance for them to ruin your live if they get your ss#. Don't ever store financial info in your computer. That's my rule after that experience.

This is especially important if you are using a shared (I.e. UNSECURED) WIFI connection at a restaurant, bookstore, etc. I could go to the nearest WIFI hotspot and steal passwords and all sorts of information. It's actually VERY EASY. Luckily for other people, I'm not dishonest.

I won't do anything like that on a computer other than my own, at my own house. I won't even access anything except for a single email account (or BS websites) that have their own password, so it doesn't matter if the PW gets sniffed.

I don't do this, but some people I know won't even use their credit cards on the internet. They go out and buy the gift cards, and recharge them right before they buy stuff. That way, if they ever have their information stolen, it's only from that gift card, so they never have to deal with those headaches.

That said, $150 at McDonalds?!?!?! That dude must have the biggest family ever, both in girth and numbers!
