I have had an algae issue for the last 3 months. i would really like you to see my tank so you can see exactly what i mean but my photos are bigger than 200kbs. i do not know if i need new lights or what. please give me your ideas on the algae and how to get my photos to take less space.
    thanks

Do you have photo editing software on your computer?

In regards to the hair algae-How old is your tank? How old are your lights, what kind of water flow do you have, and what are your water levels?

In regards to the photos I use photobucket. I can edit the pics there and paste them here.

    Hope that helps.

you gotta get your water cleaner..red algae= cyano

make sure your using 0tds rodi water
make sure you dont have dead spots in your tank
beef up your clean up crew
    increase flow
or you can run some GFO in a filter or reactor

that algae means your water is not good quality and too much ammonia nitrate etc. also it is a sign of lack of flow. just point a powerhead on the sandbed and that should do the trick

thanks i found out one of my actinic lights was burnt out so i replaced that and i plan on using rodi water sometime soon after i get a new tank. i plan on getting a new tank that is pre drilled so i can do a sump to uncrowd the view of my tank. as for the photos im going to wait until sunday when i do a water change.
    thanks
