Been having trouble with gha.managed to get phos and nitrates down now there's bubbles forming on the gha i'm taking that's a sign that it's dying off or I'm in for more trouble.

the algae on my tank's glass almost always has air bubbles... I don't think it's a sign that it's going away... probably expired CO2.... the thing about GHA is you will need to remove it as much as possible to speed up the process. Removing excess nutrients will not "kill" it very quickly. I have found that GHA can survive with lowered nutrients... it may not "grow" but it will survive to some degree unless it is eaten away or removed.

Do you have a phosphate reactor?

Going to have a big clean out this weekend give some off the live rock a good scrub try and get rid of most of it. Phos at 0 nitrate down at 5. I will win this battle.

air bubbles mean photosynthesis which is them releaseing oxygen not a sign of them dying off

I'm inclined to agree. The reason I asked about flow is because these bubbles are usually ingested into the tank quickly, and typically don't hang around too long.

Additionally, variable temperatures may also cause an abundance of bubbles.

I have plenty of flow no phosphate reactor. Using brightwell reef biofuel and clearmax to sort out phosphates and nitrates.
