Have you tested the water what are your params. There is something in there that is feeding the algea (phosphates/nitrates). I see that you are using ro water are you filtering it yourself or is a lfs doing it.

And Gyth there are a couple companies making fuge lights CPR I know for sure. I can't remember the rest. And fuge lights do not ned to be ran 24/7 most people run them opposite schedule of there tank lights

Run your fuge lights opposite of the main tank light with a 30 minute overlap on each end.

Use a plain CF spiral lightbulb. I use a 23w 6500k Sylvania bulb from Lowes ($5.88 each). I plan on replacing with a 23w 6500k GE 2pk from Walmart ($6.97 for the 2pk). I bought a clip-on aluminum housing from Lowes for $5.88 (5 inch round clip on).

That's all you need for lighting, unless you like wasting your money. :)

No, we use a mixture of flake food and garlic pellets (we have a picky eater) and currently our LM blenny is hiding and not eating, so we got some frozen seaweed to see if we can get him to eat but we haven't put it in the tank yet.. Would that cause more algae if we did? The only things in our tank that is enjoying this algae brake out is our clowns.. I hate this....

what you will find with this hobby is many people have success with various methods...Personally my fuge light is on all the time. The reason being...dont have room for another timer and i aint gonna fix what's not broke. So find what works for you and stick with it. The only thing that everyone with a successful tank has in common is stability. Find what keeps your tank stable and stick to it.

My little 12G Nano was covered top to bottom at least as bad as your pic, except I was pulling at least a full handfull every week for well over a year. All my chems were "normal", I cut the lights down to 2 hrs/day, water changes, but nothing helped..

I did several things at the same time, so I don't know what did it:
-Added a chiller: Avg temp dropped from 82 degrees (summer & always the worst) to 77.5
    -Added 3 snails
-Added a bigger than I should have Emerald crab
-3 treatments (only) of Algaefix (was desperate)
Went away on business for the week, and when I returned it was like a brand new tank! There is still a small patch on my 5+ year old Pollip rock that (previously covered) is now nicely mowed growing nowhere else. I'd post a pic but there's nothing to see..

That was 3 weeks ago and everything is still doing great. The lights are back up to 9hrs/day and I still can't get any of whats left to grow enough to sustain the critters without suppliments. Even the Emerald is losing color.

IMO, getting the temp under control and stable was the best thing that could have been done.

You definitely have a nitrate problem, nitrate reading or not. People underestimate nitrates as a contributing factor with GHA problems. While you may also have phosphates, nitrates tend to cause the quicker growth among hair algae, from what I've seen in the past. GHA loves to consume nitrates/phosphates faster than they can be picked up in a water test. Also, make sure there is no natural sunlight from windows or what not that may be hitting the tank (also a good time to replace old bulbs if you have bulbs that need to be replaced- However, 3 week growth that looks like that is definitely something more than just stray light or mild nitrate/phosphate problems. What are all your water params for your aquarium and what type of equipment do you have running on your nano?

Also notice that you said your tank is 6 months old. Definitely doesnt look to be as established as a 6 month tank should look like. Your sand looks like its almost brand new, no corraline on your glass or equipment and tubing in the back. Just seems off. I'd really like to know what your water params are.
