    Heya
I have an algae problem that has not really stopped for the longest time. I thought time would help but I guess it didnt. It is litterally all over my 4 tank walls and my rock looks like there is a hairy fur like layer on top of it. Will get pics up soon.

    A few questions....

Are you running GFO or EcoBak or both??? My experience has been that Phosphates and Nitrates have been the root cause of my problems. Attack Phosphates and Nitrates and the algae goes away.

Also, Test Kits sometimes "lie" and show zeros on things like phosphates because the algae is consuming it.

Some stats on your tank set up would help... Do you have a refugium? Skimmer? DSB? etc.

    Just some thoughts.

I have chaeto, GFO and Carbon and biopellets. All running. I thought it may take some time to "kick in" but its been almost 2 months..

Get some Nerites. They arent a long term solution, but you should see the work mine are doing in my tank...they got some appetites on em!

. In older aquariums, algae problems are usually caused by aquarium water with excess nutrients like phosphate, nitrates etc. You can try and siphon out what you can to remove the algae in the short term. In the long term you may have to examine how you care for your tank. There are some commercial dry foods also contain excess nutrients and other undesirable things like nitrates, phosphates etc so I strain/rinse my fresh/frozen foods before feeding my tank. You may want to consider feeding your fish less often. Also using RO/DI water and a high quality salt with little if any NO3, phosphates etc like Tropic Marin will really help too. Adding a phosphate remover and increasing flow in your tank may help too
