    i have been battling hair algea jusr cant seem to get rid of it amm nitrate nitriteall at 0ppm mag at 1380 cal 400 alk 9 and phos at 0 but i think the algea is taken the phos up before i can detect it so what can i put in the tank to get rid of phos thankx

    What about your lighting? Bad bulbs can cause this type of problem. Or, a whole new light set up. Changing from pc's to mh's etc. .

    I think that its a good idea if your Po3/4 is out of hand, but you have zero!
    I dont remember what your levels where, but I recommend this;
    Get your ph to 8.4-8.5
    raise your dkh to 14-16
    lower your temp to 76-77

    ok ill do that i was just thinkin that if i just that in the sump then i wouldnt have to worry about phos anymore but i really dont want any more wires under there its a mess now

    Im like you, dont want anymore cables or over load the outlet. Try something, ask your local LFS if they rent out a phos reactor and see if that makes a difference in your LHA. Just a thought, Luna

    u know what i never thought of that i been gettin my frags from a guy 10 mins away he has a reactor on the shelf in his laundry room i know he'll let me borrow it he really cool and really cheap frags
