Looks like a little Cyano bloom to me.. I'd brush it off and increase water flow to that area. May want to test the PO4's and NO3's of the water. And if you are trying to spot feed the coral ? may want to stop that also ..

Okay, that is just gross (but funny)! I would recommend a Hawaiian vacation. Maybe you, too, will find a tiki statute that will bring you better luck that it did Bobby! HeeHee. 8)

Are you familiar with spider mites and the webs they weave when they invade a plant? It looks very similar. It also almost looks like it is made of a synthetic material. I'm going to attempt better pix for a clearer view and post them tonight.

I don't spot feed - anything. I'm trying to avoid making even more work for myself and have avoided, hopefully, anything that would require special attention. What are PO4's and NO3's -- Phosphate and Nitrates (BIG GUESS). If so, they are both at zero! I have increased the water flow to that area. I installed a HydroFlo attachment to the powerhead which rotates 360 degrees providing a much better water flow.

I took a soft toothbrush and painstakingly removed what I could access (trying to avoid stressing it out completely and/or killing the poor critter). Being somewhat on the clutzy side at times, I knocked the piece off the live rock. As it swirled the water's current, a small, white bug was dislodged. It was really, really white, flat, and pretty round in shape. I wondered from the beginning if it might have been some type of bug (or whatever they're called in reefer lingo), due to the fact that I thought it was some type of spider web. Thankfully, his presence did not go unnoticed by the tang, clown, goby, and the cleaner and fire shrimp. Hopefully one of them got a little after-dinner treat tonight.

Any ideas what this little white creature may be?
