Found this dark red worm, about an inch long, slowly crawling up the rock. As it looks rather nasty, suspect it is bad, but's can't find much about it on the internet. Any ideas what it is?

    Thanks!

Looks like the love child of a spaghetti worm and earth worm. Lovely.

I'm so glad my tank has a good tight lid and these things have to stay in.

Ya looks like some form of a spagetti worm, if it is infact a spaghetti worm then it is a good harmless cleaner in your tank

That's actually a Cirratulid polychaete, AKA "hair worm".

These critters are different than Terebellids (spaghetti worms) in that in the hair worm, the "hairs", which are actually gills, are found all along the body, while the feeding tentacles around the mouth of the spaghetti worm are found on one end.

I wouldn't toss either critter tho, as they're harmless detritus feeders.

I just got chills. That thing is ugly. Cool hitchhiker though.
