    HI,

It's here, but I forgot my digital camera at home. I'll try and post some pictures tomorrow. In short, I can stop holding my breath. Very nice rock! There is a good variety of shapes and sizes. The biggest piece has to be 20x12x10ish. Lots of natural caves and layered rocks. It seems like you get a lot of volume for the weight. There were a number of large flat pieces that were good for building bridges and caves. They could also be put in vertically to extensively cover the back. There seems to be a good mix of color. Lots of purple and red. Being uncured there is a lot of mixed growth on the rock. I'm patient and this is a new tank so I didn't try scrubbing it off. I'll let nature do the work for me. The tank needs some nutrition to start the cycle. It doesn't look like any hitch hikers survived the trip. I found a couple dead bristle worms in the bottom of the box and in the rocks.

Now for the down side... Mr. UPS man wasn't too kind to the boxes. They absolutely got banged around in transit. There was some mild breakage and a rubble in the bottom, but nothing too major. I'd guess there was about 5% waste. I tossed the broken bits in the sand so you will get an idea of how much tomorrow. I might just add it to the W/D.

All in all I'm very pleased with the quality and price of the rock. Here is 1 Ebay deal that worked out. :)

BTW, I have a mess of Nassarious snails living/surviving in a trash can with my old gravel and a powerhead in my storeroom from my old 130. Do you think I can move them into the tank to help cure the rock? I figure if the could survive my old Clown Trigger they can survive a little ammonia spike. Bad idea? Wait a week or so?

I'd wait a week to be safe and acclimate them. Glad the rock worked out. Look forward to some pics!

Nassaurius snails need at least a 2" sand bed to dive into and be invisible to predators.

BTW, I have about a 4.5" dsb in this tank. Trying something new... And the 2" in the old one just slowed down the attrition ratio to a couple a week. ::)

I'm bored. I'm going to toss in about a dozen just to see what happens. I've got around 100 survivors in the back. A mild experiment.
