I don't understand it. I have my 90 gal with a few LPS's including a bubble, some candy canes, lots of softies, etc......then I noticed that only 3 branches on my torch have polyps/ tentacles on them left. I have had it for about 5 months now or more with no problems. Light: Belize 250 MH, 2 T5 blue actinics. Fish: Niger, yellow tang, Kole tang, Hippo tang, YWG, Perc. Could one of these guys be the culprit for nibbling on the tentacles? I moved it to my 55 gal which is under a coralife canopy with white and blue straight pins. Seems to be doing well so far, at least the 3 branches with polyps left out of 7.

    Thanks................

How much flow do you have in the 90, it might have been too much. My euphylias hate too much flow. Also, what is your nitrate level? It seems you have a fairly high bioload so that could be an issue. Have you checked specific gravity recently? Actually, probably should post all or your parameters.

Don't just say they are fine, test them and post specifics. One thing or another could be out of whack.

The only other thing i can think of is I had a peppermint shrimp that would eat euphylias and once discovered, it was quickly banished to the fuge.

    Good luck

The trigger is a definite possible culprit, IMO.

Good point, I did not put trigger with Niger when I read it the first time.

Tangs are also suspect. That is a lot of fish for a small tank. Tangs get competitive when there is a lot of competition for food and IME can devour LPS corals in such conditions. I would suspect the trigger or a tang.
