I have a tiny branch on my hammer coral (2-3 of them to be exact) and they look like tiny heads, but I'm not sure. is this the case?

Right in the center of the picture.

That looks to be at the base? Then no. Euphyllia splits when it multiplies.

    yes it's at the base.

that's what confused me knowing that they split but they look like little tiny heads.

    Def. a baby head.

I have a large bicolor purple/green frogspawn that has split heads multiple times. However, the other day my GF noticed that there are two little "heads" sticking out. We have been watching them grow ever since!!!

    Congrats on successful reefkeeping!!!

your coral is growing new branches... my frogspawn has some new branches growing near the base, but they seem to grow very slowly compared to the branches that split.

Guess I formally recant my statement. I did not know euphyllia can divide like this.

agreed- they are growing REALLY slow compared to the heads at the top of the colony.

It will be fun to track, I actually found a 4th tube sticking out but don't see any micro heads in it.

    You and me both.

    slow growth beats no growth.

hell I've been thrilled to get two new zoa heads before this.
