When you moved it, did you happen to touch the fleshy part or expose it to the air?

Did you mix anything with your Top Of Water..? Was it the same Temp as display water.?
I'm careful about adding TOW, And keep it away from my corals, best I can.. Just in case..

    Good Luck, Larry

Well just got home from a long miserable day, and the middle guy is toast. Almost looks like something had been eating it. Hell if I know what happened.

No it was never exposed to air. I moved it in the tank. I usally just bought distilled water from the store, then I got some 5gallon jugs and had just started to get RO water from the vending machines. Done this twice now.....but now im thinking the filters are pry shiat!! in those machines. Time for a RO/DI I'll order one tomorrow

Sorry I don't have an answer regarding the hammer. I know you don't have a sump, but the golden rule is to always add stuff (water, med's, supplements, etc.) to a high flow area. Without a sump, that's pretty darned tough to do, but just thought I'd share that.

That's a alveopora, by the way--or flowerpot. It's one of my favorites. Supposedly not an easy coral to keep, but very beautiful.

    Good luck! :)
