I picked up a small piece of pink hammer coral from the LFS today. They told me it was very rare, but online people are saying there fairly common. What is the rarity for various colors of Hammer? Also, how long are the sweeper tentacles? I've accommodated for them having fairly large sweepers but i'm not exactly sure how large they are.

you could try to see them in the night time and get a grasp for how far out they reach. generally they reach out about 5-6"...not exactly sure, could someone back that up!? or maybe it's something different

the length of the sweepers are generally at least a couple of inches. Also keep in mind that hammers are fairly potent corals and will kill most corals it encounters. So it's good that you have given it room. I do know that gold colored hammers are rare and come from australia, I don't know about other colors
