We bought a Hammer that is about the size of a baseball and have a question regarding damage/die off. 2 of the stalks look completely dead on top (each one about the size of a nickel around) but the rest of the coral looks excellent. Not sure if it got damaged in transit or picked upon but the 2 small sections are missing there little fingers. Will it grow back or once the little "hammers" are gone, are they gone forever? If they wont grow back does the damaged section need to be removed? Pretty sure the rest of the coral is healthy and it doesnt show any signs anywhere else of damage, it looks great. Any ideas?

it will not grow back... one head of my hammer died and soon after the other died as well. i suggest fragging off the dead heads and also make sure that they arent getting burnt or starved due to a change in lighting (LFS to home)

Figures.....Thanks for the info and one more question, whats the best method for fragging these things? Can I just use an exacto and cut off the dead heads?
