I have a very large frag of Hammer Coral, about 5 heads..
I've had it a month or so and it's going really good..
Cleaning my tank, I knocked it off the live rock.. where I had placed it..
    It's not hurt, scratched, etc..

I have to put small pieces of rock around the base of it so it'll stand upright, and look good..

    I need to know....
would the rock touching the slimmy part of the coral hurt it..??
Not near the heads. All of all the branches are fleshie, as they should be..
And nothing is touching near the heads..

    Thanks, Larry

Can you use some putty or gel super glue instead? Im not sure about your hammer, but mine "scars" Its hammer gets all puffy and swollen. I wouldnt do it. I'd putty or glue it in place. Just MHO.

Way to big for super glue, But I'll check on some putty at my LFS ..

    That might work..

If the coral itself (not the hard skeleton) rubs against the rockwork, it could get scratched which will leave it susceptible to infection.

There's a place on ebay that I kept buying "Reef Epoxy" for about $12, come to find out that its just $4 Locktite from Lowes. Here a pic of what I did in a similar situation:

you can barely see at the bottom where I put the epoxy, its white, but most of it is covered by coralline.

Thanks for the ideas, and looks cool.. I didn't want it to get hurt..
It really looks good in the center of my tank.. So I'll go to Lowes..
I take it, that stuff sets up underwater OK..
I have a few other corals that I need to atach to live rock, and super glue gel.
    wasn't getting the job done..

    Thanks Bunches for the info..
it could get scratched which will leave it susceptible to infection.

That is way I was worried..

    Thanks, Larry

Yeah, it'll cure underwater.......Epoxy and superglue dont need air to cure.
