Here is a pic of it. And the coral next to it was kinda not doing so good when my buddy put it in my tank, and i know my t5s cant support it, obviously.

Hey I noticed you said something about adding carbon a while back. What kind is it? There was a recall on some a little while back for trace amounts of metals. If I see the name it might jog my memory.

Kent brand. But as he said he still has all inverts. Wouldn't those and his sps be the first to go. I read about the bad carbon and that wiped out peoples entire tanks.

Did you do any dips when you introduced these new pieces?
Your reading detectable amounts of ammonia 0- 0.025? I've used API test kits and don't find the color chart very accurate. If they are showing some it may be that.

yea shows .25-.50 ammonia, always has ever since i have had the tank. and KH is at 6.

Just made up 5gal of fresh sw. And have another 5gal of ro/di going right now. So going to do a 10gal water change tomorrow. And see where that gets the KH up 2. Then this weekend will do another if its not up between 8-12 KH.

Test both ammonia and KH kits against the reference sample. I found that my kit tests 1.5 meq/l too high.

Did your kit not come with a reference sample bottle? The sample contains a fluid with a calibrated concentration (KH for instance). My KH sample is supposed to read 4 meq/l, but it doesn't, so I know my indicator solution is contaminated. I take that into account when I do my measurements.
