I went to "Stingray City" in the Cayman Island one time. It was amazing. Hundreds of big rays coming up to you. But they tell you when you feed them not to hold your thumb up... I made that mistake and I thought the little glutton had taken my thumb off! It hurt but i guess it was just a lot of suction power.

Awesome vid. I really want one now but no room :(. Just be careful with that barb of his. Just curious and don't go finding out firsthand, but what's the reaction to a sting from one that size, do you know?

What most people don't know, is that when people die due to stingray "stings", it is almost never because of the venom itself. Stingrays have a barb about halfway down the tail that they use to pierce. Remember Steve Irwin? He was "stung" but the cause of his death was the barb penetrating his heart. While the toxin is extremely painful, it isn't necessarily fatal. Ray Charles has a barb about 1/2 inch long. The only thing that could do to me is feel like a thumbtack sticking me. Also, the barbs can only protrude upwards, and this is a rays defense to being stepped on. Unless I put my hand on top of him, it is very hard for him to stick me any other way. Basically, I have no worries. :)
