OC spray, TASER's, even striking weapons can be ineffective at times. Mostly the OC sold to the public is "watered down" from the professional grade products.

If presented with a deadly force situation why would you bring a less lethal weapon to the party? Just like the old adage, "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight."

I believe if more people were properly trained and carried, the violent crime rate would drop. Given the typical robbery, the perpetrator knows he is the only one armed. I think he would think twice going into a force on force scenario.

I would have to agree here. Why would I want to bring a non lethal or less lethal weapon to a situation that could be life or deaht? The only time I would use a weapon for self defense is take out the threat so it is no longer a threat at all. Sorry if I hurt somebody's feelings with that, but if someboy is going to threaten my family or myself, then they are already asking for what is coming next IMO.

Totally with rpm1 on everything. I do have to say the civilian pepper spray I've been sprayed with was worse than the military mk3 5.5 I believe. I could be wrong on the 5.5 its been a couple years since I carried it

Yeah, not sure I wanna poke a guy with pepper spray that is wanting to kill me or my family. Am I against carrying pepper spray/tasers? Absolutely not. Better than nothing.

BTW, just bought my new one. S&W airweight .38 special with some hornady critical defense loads. Less than 6 1/2"'s and under a pound. Fits nicely in my pocket. Internal hammer. This will be used when I'm in shorts and a tshirt, doing active stuff out and about with my boy only. The rest of the time I'll still carry my springfield xd 9 or my S&W MP .40.
