When i bought my aquatic life 6 lamp t-5 i also purchased the hanging kit, how high off the tank should the fixture be? i would really like to hang it so i can get into my tank some more and eliminate some salt creep on my light.

You'll be fine with that. If this is a new fixture, just make sure you light acclimate your tank

Thanks Boost, its an existing fixture, but the problem is i have SPS at the bottom of my tank b/c LFS told me that i could put them straight up on top, but i killed one of my SPS b/c of that, its slowly coming back now but it was shocked like crazy, and they run half the stuff under LED's not sure what kind tho

I have the same tank & fixture. Right now I have the bottom of the fixture 7 1/2" above the water. But I'm thinking of raising it an inch or two, cause i've bleached a few corals after moving them up from the sand. Hope this helps.

Helps alot, think ill go about 10 inches 2 start, and just keep an eye on everything to make sure its getting enough light if so ill leave it, if not, ill lower it a 1/2in at a time
