My pendants 15" x 8.75" x 5" and weighs 6 lbs. I decided to save $30 and DIY mount it. For some reason I can't find any info on the internet. I just got back from Lowes and have a few ideas.

I was gonna use anchored ceiling hooks., chains and eyelet screws... my question is do I need 2 chains on each side or one chain on each side.??

Any other suggestions or pics would be helpful.. I'm itchin to go to Lowes..

If they are perfectly balanced one each side otherwise go two or connect one chain on each side with a good sized loop then connect the two to the chain from the ceiling.

I would go with two, it's easier to get it stable and allows more room for error.

To answer your question then - I think 1 chain per side would be fine with that weight.

this is how I setup my pendant.
note the power cord is on the same axis as the two hanging wires, this prevents the pendant from tilting due to weight of the power cord. The hanging kit came with the pendant I got, but you can buy it from premium aquatics. my pendant is approximately 10 lbs and I used toggle bolts directly into ceiling drywall (no studs).
