Hanna has had these digital checkers out for a while now. They look to be a decent price, so I may snag a few when I get the money. I see they have tests for pH, calcium, alkalinity, phosphate, iron, and (free/total) chlorine, as well as nitrite. When will they be coming out with tests for nitrate and ammonia? Magnesium?

Also, I realized in order to get the best deal on reagent you need to buy the 100 tests. How many tests do the checkers come with? Or is that a separate cost even from the beginning?

Thanks for the replies. Yes, that did help, Saltyfresh. You are right, I see why they might not be so quick to release one for nitrate.

I try to keep up on the latest and greatest with the tech. side of the hobby. This is something I've been following, but it hasn't caught my attention quite as much as much as new LED fixtures, biopellets, and also Echotech's new pumps.

I can't wait to see what products people see at MACNA.

I am currently using the Alk, Calcium, phosphate PPB, testers. They are, especially the calcium, more difficult to use than normal tests. But way, way easier to read. I love mine. I'm partially color blind so not using colors is a HUGE bonus for me. I have double/triple tested all mine against salifert and lfs red sea tests and always come back rock solid!\

They come with some packets, but I ordered more on mine out the gate.
