My name is jimmy & i currently have a 150 gallon FWT with three red eared slider turtles about 6 inches in length an one african sideneck mud slider turtle. I have had this tank for a year now and it does just fine.

Since it is x-mas time I recently told my wife that i wanted to start a new endevor...a salt water tank.

I've done a lot of research and I just recently (a week ago) set up a ten gallon aquarium. As i have read anything under 30gal for salt water takes an enormus amount of work & luckily as a disabled vet who has alot of time at home I felt i was in the perfect situation to work on what is considered a nano tank. Which has lead me here. I'm excited and finding it hard to be patient as i break in this new tank with live rock and sand.

I'm looking forward to advise and help as new situations arise with this new endevour.

    Jimmy

    welcome to 3 reef Jimmy

when I lived in UK, I used a 20 gallon bucket for water changes and had a 100 or 150 watt heater thermostat in it - I always let it mix 24 to 48 hours so plenty of time for the water in the bucket to reach temp required

the best piece of advice you'll get around here as a saltwater newbie is 3Reef's slogan
    "Go slow, let it grow."
