hard green algae

    i am getting spots of hard green algae on my glass not bad not noticable unless your face is on the glass water quality is great is it just to much light and btw what is this type of algae

    Look up green coralline algae. If its hard and not slimy to the touch that's prob what it is.

    but how i never intrduced it its not slimy the back glass is a little but thats mainly because its a pain in the ass to get with the magnet

    Could also be green dot algae. I have it in my nano tank. It's not coralline, but is a vibrant green and is a PITA to get off with a magnet scrubber. I use my pro-scraper to get it off.

    I use a razor blade and it works wonders. Its still a PITA tho as you have get your arm right over the algae which can be hard on the bottom of your tank or on the sides.

    Isn't it a pain? I find I produce more scratches on the tank walls trying to get it off, than actually getting it off! :angry:
