    Hello,

I have a hard tube coco worm, which I love. The past week it has hardly been out of it's tube. It's not dead, I can see him creeping toward his opening. Parameters are good, I'm not posting them since I'm not home and don't have the exacts. I have a small convict damsel that I have twice seen nip at the worm when he comes out. Should the con go? Any thoughts? I'm new to posting threads so bear with me.

It sounds like it's just trying to protect itself from the damsel. One or the other will need to be moved most likely.

that is a beautiful worm. Not sure if the damsels mess with those things but I'm sure it would mess with any fish you add. My exp with damsels is that they hate hands, fish and shrimp. They are considered reef safe with caution. I will never keep one in my reef tank again because of their aggression. I think its a good possibility that the damsel is messing with the worm. but I don't know. I'm just guessing.

is your temp, pH and SG ultra stable? Fluctuations in these cause havoc w/these worms IME.

Problem solved. I moved the worm, now he's happy. I think at one point when I was moving my hammer coral the rock may have shifted and squished the back end of the tube (no harm/cracking done though). I gently unwedged the worm and have him just laying on the sand right now. About 2 minutes after I moved him he came out, and has been out since. I'm still going to get that convict damsel out, we cycled the tank with him when we first started. I havent seen him going at the worm yet, but he will go to make room for some other fish.

    Thanks all.
