I got one on 4/27/09. It was immediately and almost 24/7 out of it's tube within minutes and stayed that way until 4/30. At which point it went in and would only occasionally peak out. Like this for about 4 days now.

Today, suddenly, it's been out for the past hour straight.

    Is that typical? Indicative?

Also, I've been trying to figure out a good dosage of live phytoplankton to give. I've got this worm and a soft tubed in my substrate in my 55 gallon.

These are the only two animals I am aiming to feed here. I don't want to lead to a condition of algae problems or anything.

I've been doing 1tsp every other day. Should I up this to 1Tbsp every other day? Is this possibly the explanation for the first question?

    Thanks folks.

when you 1st get these worms and place them in your tank, they investigate the area they are in and come out and stay out and check for food, current etc

when they are happy that all is well, they go back into tube and secrete their glue like substance to secure themselves to the location

then they go back to coming out and filter feeding again and withdraw in order to eat anything the feathers capture

thats what I believe goes on, when mine go AWOL within a couple of days of purchase

feeding, I use microvert myself, and feed weekly at the basic dose 1 drop per gallon and not the 3 drop per gallon the bottle also indicates is OK ( well I would love to sell 3 times as many lights to people as they need also, so I have no problem with the label, I just like you dont want to overfeed my tank)
